Post six

Hello everyone!

We're finally in the final station of this blogging experience, for this post you will be able to write freely about any topic of your choice.

The only requirement is to answer this short question:

What did you think about this writing experience? (the whole blog activity, the six different blogs we made, answer this question in the comments, minimum 40 words).

Now the free topic, in my case I'll choose to talk about the hobby I have, that is, cactus growing.

I've been "in the cactus world" for ten years now. I started without even noticing it. I remember I bought a plant arrangement with about five or six different cactus and succulents, and after a while I decided to separate them, and give each plant its own pot.

After some time I had already started buying plants in different countries, either through Ebay or buying from international friends. It was around then that I started getting seeds and creating my own plants and trying different growing techniques such as cloning or grafting.

Now that 10 years have passed I can say that it's a very addictive hobby, as plants frow and develop different forms and very beautiful flowers. It can be expensive but it also becomes very rewarding. These are some flowers of plants I made from seed :D

Good morning everybody!

VIDEOGAMES!

I'll start by saying that I'm not a big fan of videogames, I don't play them very often, and I don't usually invest money on them. But I do recognize that there are many videogames I like, some of them are very old, but they remind me of some good old times and they're a lot of fun to play.

A classical, that I used to play in videogame rentals, in the 90's, is Snow Bros, in which you have to defeat different monsters, to move into new stages to try to rescue a princess.



Some of the others I like are from a company named Neo Geo, I played these in a computer as I was growing up, with my brothers and for hours when surfing the internet was not an option. Some examples are Metal Slug, The King of fighters, Magical World, and Bomberman.

 


My favorite video game is by far Pokémon, I loved it since it came out, and I have played several versions of it, not only videogames but also Pokémon card games.

Nowadays the only videogame I play is Mortal Kombat Armageddon, in my PS2. I play it with my neighbor when he comes over to my house, we call it 'echar peleas' and it keeps me away of stress!
If I ever have problems with anything, I imagine myself performing a FATALITY!
And that solves it all! haha.

Hello everyone!

We have had a difficult time the last few weeks, protests, curfew, and a general feeling of discontent have filled the lives of many people in our country.
These issues have been present in people's lives for a long time but it wasn't until students in Santiago started a peaceful protest in which they massively evaded the payment of the Metro fare. After this there were some violent outbursts which led to, in my opinion, to a big mistake from the Chilean president who declared "we are at war".
Starting the 19 of October, these days certainly left everyone with stuff to think about. That's why I decided to make this post about the national contingency.
                          

What do YOU think about all this?

A recipe for...

Hi!
it's our third post already. I hope after 2 blog sessions have passed you've learned how to work here. Remember, the steps for each blog session are the same:

1 read the teacher's post.
2 make a comment
3 write and publish your own post, following the given instructions

This week's post is free, you have to write a 110 words about... a recipe for something, either something you can eat, a preparation of something for yourself, or even how to create hand made products.

The only requirement is to use the following modal verbs:

should - must - have to - shouldn't - mustn't - don't have to

Here's my post:

A recipe for "CEREAL BARS"


First of all, you should know that this recipe is intended as a guide, and based only in my own knowledge and experience, that means you shouldn't necessarily follow every step, as you can incorporate different ingredients and processes.

Ingredients:
Quinoa
Oatmeal
Granola
Walnuts
Almonds
Chocolate chips
1 cup of Honey
1/2 cup of Strawberry/raspberry jam.

Preparation:

You must gather all the ingredients before starting. You have to clean all the utensils and surfaces you will use.

First you must mix all the dry ingredients. REMEMBER you mustn't hydrate oatmeal as the honey and jam will make that later.

After that, in a small pot you should heat water to melt the chocolate that will work as cover for these bars.

Once you have mixed all the ingredients, add the honey, jam and three spoons of water.

Mix all the ingredients well and set them in a tray and press them against each other. After that, cover the resulting preparation with melted chocolate and let cool, you don't have to cook them!

Cut and store the bars individually and don't forget to enjoy them with friends and family, they provide a lot of energy so you shouldn't eat them alone!!

Welcome to the second post.
This time you'll have to write about your favorite movies or series.
Your post must be 110 words long as A MINIMUM.

Here's my post:

"You met me at a very strange time in my life." Fight club, 1999.

This is probably one of my favorite movies of all time, at least one I'd re watch and would still be enjoyable. I won't tell you what it is about because.. well, because of the first rule of the fight club!
If you saw this, you know what I mean. This is probably an intense and deep movie for some people, but that's not the only type of styles I like.

Now I'll tell you about some of my top 5 series!
This one is called The office and it was the US version of a show with the same name produced earlier in the UK. It's a mockumentary (it's filmed as if it was a real documentary) and it narrates the story of a group of common office workers. It even had a Chilean version, La Ofis, in Canal 13, which only lasted one season but was very well done. It had one of my favorite Chilean actors as protagonist: Luis Gnecco.

 

There are many many other shows I've watched and liked! some recommendations I'd give you are:
True Detective, Game of Thrones, Lost, Fringe, How I met your mother, Friends, Daredevil, Weeds, Breaking bad, The get down and Orange is the new black.

Hello everybody

My name is Victor Rubio Fuenzalida, I was born on April 23^rd 1988, so I guess I’m 31 years old. I’m a teacher of English at North Cross School in Curacaví, where I’ve lived for the last 4 years.

During my week days I teach kids from 4 to 12 years old and even though it’s not easy at all, I do my best to enjoy it.

One thing I love doing is growing cactus plants, I’ve had this hobby for 10 years. One thing I hate doing these days is using my very limited free time to go to Santiago.
